About this site

An independent editorial reference on the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) and agentic commerce, in five languages.

Updated : June 2026

What this site does

universalcommerceprotocol.blog documents the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), the open agentic commerce standard announced by Google with Shopify at the NRF Big Show on January 11, 2026, and the ecosystem around it: ACP (OpenAI/Stripe), AP2, MCP, x402, structured data, GEO and merchant catalog readiness for AI agents.

It is written for merchants, e-commerce teams and developers who need to understand these standards and prepare for them in practice. Content is published in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

Independence

This site is an independent editorial project. It is not affiliated with Google, Shopify, or any standards body or platform mentioned. It is not the official protocol website: the official specification lives at ucp.dev.

Editorial method

The editorial team follows three strict rules:

  • Primary sources first: official announcements (Google, Shopify, OpenAI, Stripe), published specifications and open-source repositories. Dated facts (launches, coalitions, rollouts) are verified before publication.
  • Facts vs. analysis: anything speculative (future timelines, undocumented agent behavior) is explicitly labeled as such.
  • Dated updates: every page displays its last-updated date. Agentic commerce moves fast, pages are revised when the facts change.

Reporting an error

If you spot a factual error, outdated information or an inaccuracy, it will be corrected. A dedicated contact address will be published on this page soon.
